Description.

Provide specialist mental health pharmacy services across NHS Mental Health Trusts, community mental health teams, inpatient units, and CAMHS services. Support safe and effective use of psychotropic medicines, contribute to MDT care planning, and optimise treatment for adults, children, and young people with complex mental health needs.

Key Requirements.

Experience.

  • Minimum 1–2 years’ post-registration experience in mental health, CAMHS, or advanced hospital clinical pharmacy.

  • Skilled in psychotropic medicines management, therapeutic drug monitoring, and supporting complex mental health presentations.

  • Experience contributing to MDTs including psychiatrists, psychologists, mental health nurses, social workers, and CAMHS practitioners.

  • Familiar with NICE guidance, mental health legislation, and prescribing protocols for adults and young people.

Qualifications.

  • MPharm degree (or recognised equivalent) with full GPhC registration.

  • Postgraduate diploma or certificate in Clinical Pharmacy desirable.

  • Additional training in mental health pharmacy, psychopharmacology, or CAMHS therapeutics advantageous.

  • CPD in mental health medicines, safeguarding, and managing high-risk psychiatric treatments.

Compliance and Vetting.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

  • Full identity and right-to-work verification.

  • Two recent professional references.

  • Up-to-date NHS Statutory and Mandatory Training.

  • Immunisation compliance for hospital and community clinical environments.

  • Full GPhC registration and fitness-to-practise check.

  • Verification of qualifications and employment history.
