Description.

Provide specialist public health and safeguarding-focused nursing support to children and young people within schools, community education settings, and child health services. Deliver health assessments, safeguarding interventions, immunisations, health promotion, and ongoing support for pupils with physical, emotional, or complex health needs.

Experience.

  • Minimum 1–2 years’ post-registration experience in school nursing, community paediatrics, health visiting, CAMHS, or general paediatric nursing.

  • Skilled in managing childhood health concerns, safeguarding, care planning for pupils with long-term conditions, and delivering school-based health programmes.

  • Experience working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, safeguarding leads, parents, and multidisciplinary child health teams.

  • Familiar with national safeguarding requirements, childhood immunisation programmes, SEND frameworks, and public-health protocols in education settings.

Qualifications.

  • Full registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a Registered Nurse (Adult, Children’s, or Mental Health).

  • Additional training in school nursing, public health, children’s health, or safeguarding desirable.

  • CPD in child health, safeguarding, immunisation, and public health promotion.

Compliance Vetting.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

  • Full identity and right-to-work verification.

  • Two recent clinical or child-focused references.

  • Up-to-date NHS Statutory and Mandatory Training (accepted across NHS, local authority, and education providers).

  • Immunisation compliance for school and community health environments.

  • Full NMC registration and fitness-to-practise check.

  • Verification of qualifications and employment history.
