Description.

Deliver healthcare, health promotion, safeguarding support, and first-line clinical care within educational settings, including schools, colleges, and community child health services.

Key Requirements.

Experience.

  • NMC-registered Adult or Children’s Nurse with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in paediatrics, school health, community children’s services, or public health nursing.

  • Experience providing health assessments, care planning, first-line clinical support, and safeguarding for school-age children.

  • Confident working independently and within multi-agency teams (education, safeguarding, community health).

Qualifications.

  • NMC registration as an Adult Nurse or Children’s Nurse.

  • SCPHN (School Nursing) qualification preferred where required by the service, but not mandatory for all agency roles.

  • Safeguarding Children Level 3 (or willingness to complete).

  • Additional training in asthma, anaphylaxis, epilepsy, or paediatric first aid desirable.

Compliance & Vetting.

  • Enhanced DBS (child workforce).

  • Full identity and right-to-work verification.

  • Two recent clinical references.

  • Up-to-date NHS Statutory & Mandatory Training (including BLS, Infection Prevention, Fire Safety, Manual Handling, Safeguarding).

  • Immunisation compliance (Hep B, MMR, Varicella, TB where applicable).

  • NMC PIN and registration check.

  • Qualification and employment history verification.

  • Competency confirmation for school-health practice.
