Description.
Deliver healthcare, health promotion, safeguarding support, and first-line clinical care within educational settings, including schools, colleges, and community child health services.
Key Requirements.
Experience.
NMC-registered Adult or Children’s Nurse with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in paediatrics, school health, community children’s services, or public health nursing.
Experience providing health assessments, care planning, first-line clinical support, and safeguarding for school-age children.
Confident working independently and within multi-agency teams (education, safeguarding, community health).
Qualifications.
NMC registration as an Adult Nurse or Children’s Nurse.
SCPHN (School Nursing) qualification preferred where required by the service, but not mandatory for all agency roles.
Safeguarding Children Level 3 (or willingness to complete).
Additional training in asthma, anaphylaxis, epilepsy, or paediatric first aid desirable.
Compliance & Vetting.
Enhanced DBS (child workforce).
Full identity and right-to-work verification.
Two recent clinical references.
Up-to-date NHS Statutory & Mandatory Training (including BLS, Infection Prevention, Fire Safety, Manual Handling, Safeguarding).
Immunisation compliance (Hep B, MMR, Varicella, TB where applicable).
NMC PIN and registration check.
Qualification and employment history verification.
Competency confirmation for school-health practice.
