A&E / Emergency Nurses >

Description.

Provide rapid, safe, and effective emergency nursing care for both adults and children presenting with acute illness, injury, trauma, or deterioration. Deliver triage, assessment, stabilisation, and emergency intervention within high-pressure Emergency Departments and paediatric emergency settings.

Key Requirements.

Experience.

  • NMC-registered Adult or Children’s Nurse with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in adult A&E, paediatric A&E, or mixed Emergency Departments within an NHS or equivalent acute setting.

  • Skilled in rapid assessment, triage, resuscitation support, emergency care pathways, wound management, and escalation for both adults and children.

  • Experience managing high-volume, unpredictable caseloads, including trauma, acute medical presentations, minor injuries, and paediatric emergencies.

  • Confident collaborating with ED clinicians, trauma teams, paediatric specialists, paramedics, and wider urgent-care teams.

Qualifications.

  • NMC registration as an Adult Nurse or Children’s Nurse.

  • Triage competency (e.g., Manchester Triage or equivalent) preferred.

  • Immediate Life Support (ILS) mandatory for all ED staff.

  • Paediatric Immediate Life Support (PILS) required for paediatric ED roles; Advanced Life Support (ALS) / Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) desirable.

  • Safeguarding Adults & Children Level 3.

Qualifications.

  • Enhanced DBS.

  • Full identity and right-to-work verification.

  • Two recent clinical references.

  • Up-to-date NHS Statutory & Mandatory Training.

  • Immunisation compliance.

  • NMC PIN and registration check.

  • Qualification and employment history verification.

  • Competency confirmation for adult and/or paediatric emergency nursing practice, including triage and resuscitation support.
