Description.
Provide safe, evidence-based midwifery care across antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal pathways in NHS and private maternity services. Support labour and birth, carry out clinical assessments, manage obstetric emergencies within scope, and deliver personalised care for women, birthing people, and newborns.
Key Requirements.
Experience.
Minimum 1–2 years’ post-registration experience in midwifery across antenatal, labour ward, postnatal, or community midwifery settings.
Skilled in clinical assessment, fetal monitoring, safe labour support, newborn care, and managing common obstetric presentations.
Experience working collaboratively with obstetricians, maternity support workers, neonatal teams, and multidisciplinary maternity services.
Familiar with national maternity guidelines, safeguarding processes, perinatal mental-health pathways, and continuity-of-care principles.
Qualifications.
Full registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a Registered Midwife.
Additional training in newborn examination (NIPE), perinatal mental health, or enhanced maternity skills desirable.
CPD in intrapartum care, antenatal screening, emergency maternity skills, and safe postnatal practice.
Compliance and Vetting.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

Two recent clinical references.
Up-to-date NHS Statutory and Mandatory Training (accepted across NHS and private maternity providers).
Immunisation compliance for maternity and neonatal clinical environments.
Full NMC registration and fitness-to-practise check.
