Description.

Provide advanced autonomous nursing care with independent or supplementary prescribing responsibilities across primary care, community services, urgent care, mental health, and outpatient clinics. Support safe clinical assessment, diagnosis within scope, treatment planning, and evidence-based prescribing for a wide range of acute and long-term conditions.

Key Requirements.

Experience.

  • MMinimum 1–2 years’ post-registration experience in the relevant clinical specialty, with additional experience providing autonomous assessment and treatment.

  • Skilled in clinical decision-making, patient assessment, prescribing within scope of competence, and monitoring treatment response.

  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams including GPs, consultants, AHPs, pharmacists, and community teams.

  • Familiar with NICE guidance, antimicrobial stewardship, safeguarding requirements, and national prescribing governance.

Qualifications.

  • Full registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as an Adult Nurse or Mental Health Nurse.

  • V300 Independent and Supplementary Prescribing qualification.

  • CPD in clinical assessment, prescribing safety, advanced practice, and relevant specialty-specific therapeutics.

Compliance and Vetting.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

  • Full identity and right-to-work verification.

  • Two recent clinical references.

  • Up-to-date NHS Statutory and Mandatory Training (accepted across NHS and private providers).

  • Immunisation compliance for all clinical environments.

  • Full NMC registration and fitness-to-practise check.

  • Verification of qualifications, prescribing certification, and employment history.
